Stronger Than This

She stared into her reflection

Until she felt weightless

Until water filled her eyes

She wondered why she was placed in such a situation

Only to later learn

That her pain would transform into the need

The obligation to share

That you are worthy of love and kindness

Even if pain is all you’ve ever known

Do not be afraid

Of all the things you can do

Only if you love yourself

She stared at her reflection

Until her big blue eyes began to blur

Until the weight of identity evaporated

And rained down in oneness

Love them from a distance

We are all learning

Although I felt trapped

I made it out alive

Because no one deserves to want to die

And I found a place inside that strived

To create something for me

So that one day I will remember the little girl I once was

And tell her that she is so beautiful

And strong

And everything will be okay

Because she will make it that way

She stared at her reflection

And repeated

That is me this is me that is me this is me

Until the weight of identity rose

And divine love poured down.
